My Experimental Watercolour Workshop Through My Friend's Lens:
Studio Journal: MAY: 2023:
I can’t believe that I was teaching at Hope & Elvis a week ago!
The time is flying by and it’s only now that I have the chance to flick through the photos and footage that I took (I ALWAYS wish that I had taken more photos but I’m too busy chatting and laughing!)
I’m about to start a vlog about the workshop weekend, but thankfully my good friend Emma (miss_artteacher_uk on Instagram) has kindly shared some of her photos with me, she is such an excellent photographer and artist: thanks again chuck!
(You can see that a lot of paint-flinging had been going down on my demo table!)
The two photos above are of the work created by my talented friend, we fitted a lot into a one day workshop (and we all managed to have a good laugh and have cake pit-stops too!)
I love seeing other people’s photos from a day that has taken the best part of a year to prepare. I love spending time experimenting, researching and planning a workshop, but it always amazes me just how quickly the day disappears in a flash, and so I’m really grateful to see snapshots of the workshop from another person’s perspective.
Here’s the display of the examples I had prepared for the day.
At the end of a very creative day, surveying the fruits of our labours!
Huge thanks to Wendy at Hope & Elvis for your kind hospitality and to my buddy Sam, whose technical knowledge and display skills are second to none!
I can’t wait to share more about this workshop weekend with you, I’ll be back soon!
A LITTLE NOTE TO ANYONE WHO’S NEW TO SUBSTACK:
Thanks so much for subscribing to my Substack.
If you’re new to this (like I am!) it might be handy for you to know that if you don’t want an email every time I post here, you can click on ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom and just un-tick the box where it says ‘Mrs B’s Substack’ and/ or ‘The Bertimus Bulletin’ (I’ve not started to use this yet but I plan on it becoming a monthly newsletter), then you can hop onto Substack to read when you want instead, if you’d prefer.
Cheers and thanks again!

Hello Mrs B, I found you via Art Tribe. Loving the look of your news-blog - like you, I started a few months ago writing about art - a challenge and a joy to do! Also, your YT vids look exciting too. Looking forward to spending some time watching them, and reading future blog posts.
Hello Letitia! I am so excited to have found you and your art journey! I listened to your conversation with Louise Fletcher this morning and feel SO inspired by the energy of your conversation and your artwork. I'm new to your Substack newsletter and very much looking forward to all of your postings.
